Travel by bus with the BARIK, BAT and MUGI cards

Over 140,000 trips and 7,000 stops

BAT, Barik and Mugi

BAT, Barik and Mugi cards are part of the Basque Country’s interoperable fare system, so they work on virtually all public bus operators in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.

Incompatible operators

These companies do not accept BAT, Barik or Mugi because they are networks outside the Basque Country or national long-distance lines outside Basque concessions:

  • La CantábricaCantabria regional network
  • Bilman Busnational long-distance
  • Grupo Interbusnational long-distance
  • La Rioja InterurbanoLa Rioja regional network
  • Navarra Interurbano / NBusNavarre regional network

General questions

  • Yes. All three cards work on public transport throughout the Basque Country. You can use the card from your province on the Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa networks, including the tram, Metro Bilbao, Euskotren, Dbus, Tuvisa, Bizkaibus, Lurraldebus and the PESA (Avanza) lines that link the three provinces.
